A Note from the Founder
It all began with a quiet moment, a scent memory, and a spark of curiosity.Â
Long before my first candle was poured or perfume bottled, I was a maker at heart — drawn to textures, aromas, and the emotional power of scent. My background in bath and body product manufacturing gave me a deep respect for formulation and the science behind creating quality products. But it was fragrance — its ability to tell stories and evoke feeling — that truly captivated me.Â
KITA was originally founded by my dear friend, Tanya, whose vision and creativity laid the foundation for a beautiful, fragrance-led brand. When the opportunity came to continue what she started, I felt deeply honoured to step in — to carry forward her legacy while weaving in my own story and direction.Â
As a wife, a mother, and a creative, KITA has become a personal journey — a space where I can blend passion with purpose, and craft products that feel meaningful, honest, and full of heart. I didn’t have formal perfumery training, but I’ve spent years learning through experimentation, research, and an unwavering love for the craft. I blended, poured, tested, and refined — until each scent spoke with its own quiet voice.Â
Today, KITA is a female-owned, family-run business based in Cape Town, and every product we create is a reflection of our values: intention, care, and artistry. From our home studio beginnings to a growing collection of perfumes, candles, and home fragrances, KITA is my love letter to the power of scent — and the slow, beautiful process of building something by hand.Â
Thank you for being part of this journey — and for letting KITA be part of yours.Â
With love,Â
