KITA is a fragrance house based in Cape Town, South Africa.

We believe fragrance has the power to shape how people remember a person, a place, or a moment.

From our Cape Town studio, we work with individuals, brands, and hospitality clients across South Africa to develop fragrances, manufacture products, and create memorable scent experiences.

We create perfumes, candles, and home fragrances, bulk body care and liquid amenities for hospitality spaces, and work with individuals and brands on bespoke fragrance development.

My Story

I’m Natlee Moonflower, and I’ve been running KITA since 2023.

But my relationship with making things by hand started long before that.

As a child, I was always creating. Whether I was making, building, experimenting, or working with my hands, I was happiest when I was creating something from nothing. Long before I understood formulation or fragrance, I had already fallen in love with the process of making.

In 2005, I began working for a small-scale glycerine soap manufacturer, where I spent nine years learning the making of body products, washes, lotions, and decorative and herbal glycerine soaps by hand. That experience gave me a deep grounding in formulation, small-batch production, and the discipline of creating products with care and consistency. It became the foundation for everything that followed.

I left that world for a time and went into corporate, but the craft never really let go. In 2018, I launched my own candle and home fragrance business, teaching myself the craft through experimentation, refinement, and a deep respect for the process. By 2019, I was blending custom fragrances for private clients, creating signature scents tailored to their spaces and their lives. From 2020, I also worked as a technical advisor and educator for SA Candle Supply, teaching the craft to others while continuing to refine my own.

When my friend Tanya, KITA’s original founder, decided it was time to pass the business on, I knew it was the right next step. I took over in January 2023, merging 14 years of craft experience with KITA’s existing foundation and taking the time to make it genuinely mine. I stepped back from my role at SA Candle Supply that October to give KITA my full attention.

It wasn’t an overnight process. Rebranding takes honesty. It takes sitting with what works and being willing to let go of what doesn’t. But in 2026, KITA is the clearest it has ever been, and that clarity is what drives everything we do now.

KITA is led by perfumer Natlee Moonflower, whose independent creative fragrance practice is The Scent Atelier. Every signature fragrance KITA creates begins there, where ideas are researched, tested, and refined before they become part of KITA’s work.

What We Make

Hospitality Solutions

Signature scent development, bulk body care and liquid amenity programmes for hotels, spas, guesthouses, and boutique accommodation. From scent identity to private-label shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and room fragrance supplied in bulk, we create sensory experiences that become part of how guests remember a property.

Perfumes

Our perfume collection includes inspired-by fragrances blended in small batches using premium fragrance oils from Grasse, France. Every fragrance is handcrafted in our Cape Town studio and named to evoke the feeling it carries, not simply the scent itself.

Candles

Hand-poured in small batches. Clean-burning, slow-curing, and crafted to fill a room without overwhelming it.

Home Fragrance

Reed diffusers, room and linen mists, and seasonal collections created to bring atmosphere and intention into your space.

Bespoke Fragrance Development

Signature fragrances for individuals, brands, and hospitality clients, developed around a personal story, brand identity, or guest experience. Every project begins with a conversation before moving into one of our fragrance development pathways.

Bespoke Manufacturing

Private-label fragrance manufacturing for brands and hospitality businesses, developed and produced through our Cape Town studio and approved manufacturing network.

Small-batch production

We do not mass-produce. Every product is made in limited quantities to ensure consistency, quality, and attention to detail.

Thoughtful sourcing

Our core collection is blended with premium fragrance oils from Grasse, France. Our limited-edition and seasonal collections feature locally sourced essential oils that celebrate the botanicals of the Cape.

Family-run, female-led

KITA is a family business. We work with local artisans and suppliers whenever possible, supporting the Cape Town community we are proud to be part of.
