KITA is a small-batch fragrance house based in Cape Town, South Africa.
We create perfumes, candles, and home fragrances that are handcrafted with intention — designed to bring something considered into your everyday life. Every scent is chosen carefully. Every product is made by hand. Nothing here is rushed.
My Story
I’m Natlee Moonflower, and I’ve been running KITA since 2023.
But this story starts in 2005.
That’s when I first got into handmade manufacturing — and I haven’t really left since. I spent almost ten years working in glycerine soap manufacturing, which taught me more about raw materials, formulation, and getting things consistently right than anything else ever could.
Candles and home fragrance came next. I launched my own business in 2018, started blending custom scents for private clients in 2019, and from 2020 to 2023 I worked at SA Candle Supply Co as an Educator and Technical Adviser — helping other makers understand their craft, troubleshoot their formulas, and build products worth being proud of.
When my friend Tanya decided it was time to pass KITA on, I was ready. I took over in January 2023 and brought everything I had learned with me — nearly twenty years of working with my hands, understanding materials, and caring deeply about getting it right.
What We Make
Hospitality and corporate solutions — we work with hotels, spas, guesthouses, boutique accommodations, and corporate clients to create fragrance experiences that are entirely their own. Signature scent development, private-label bulk amenities, branded candles and home fragrance ranges, and custom gifting solutions. B-BBEE Level 3 certified.
Perfumes — our collection features inspired-by fragrances blended in small batches using premium fragrance oils from Grasse, France. Each one is handcrafted in our Cape Town studio and named to evoke the feeling it carries, not just the scent.
Candles — hand-poured in small batches. Clean-burning, slow-curing, made to fill a room without overwhelming it.
Home fragrances — reed diffusers, room mists, and seasonal offerings that bring intention into your space.
Bespoke and custom fragrance — for clients who want something made entirely for them. A personal signature scent, a custom blend for a space, or a fragrance designed around a specific brief. We work one on one from concept through to final product.
How We Work
Small-batch production — we don’t mass-produce. Every product is made in limited quantities to ensure quality and consistency.
Thoughtful sourcing — our core collection is blended with premium fragrance oils from Grasse, France. Our limited-edition and seasonal ranges feature locally sourced essential oils, celebrating the botanicals of our region.
Family-run, female-led — KITA is a family business. We work with local artisans and suppliers whenever possible, contributing to the Cape Town community we’re part of.
